okay the thing on globe

Is it okay to have way too many children with under-age girls and over age women and leave them to the care of the state?
Does breeding alone make you a 'father'?
Or is it the care of children that make you a father?

I have my opionons- lets hear yours.

(I think I know my readers here- but man it gets my goat when men think that 'sireying" ( is that a word?) makes them a father!

A father in my words is a man regardles of blood lines that cares for and raises 'his' children.

No, of course it's not OK if a man sires children and then abandons them to the care of the state.

And yes, you're right, fatherhood is far more than simply adding one's own genetic makeup.

But let's also remember that it takes more than one decision-maker to create a child.

It's not just his responsibility, and it's not just hers. It's theirs.

Oddly, I think much of this can reference another post, the whole thing about "bad boys." If a woman is going to go after a "bad boy" or insist on being "chased" then it should be no surprise that she ends up as a single parent.

Fact is, like it or not, that it's the woman's decision as to who she's going to mate with. If a woman continually makes bad decisions then she, too, must bear some responsibility for those decisions.

Normally- I agree with you. However this situation with Mr Blackmore marrying all these child brides and escaping through legal loopholes is making me crazy.
Adults that choose are the makers of their own destiny -these young girls groomed and sent to him when they hit 14 and 15 to be 'married' and bred are not- in my opinion, choosing freely- nor were they adults.

OK, I don't know of the details of this Blackmore character, but if he's doing what you say he's doing - and I have no reason to disbelieve you - then the rules are obviously different.

It's one thing for a grown woman to have to take responsibility for actions; it's quite another to expect the same of a minor.

Normally, I'm against corporal and capital punishment, but low-lifes like this Blackmore character test the limits of those beliefs.

Without knowing all the details here also,Theo and you are correct on the "fathering"," being a father" and not just "siring" children; points an the other posts Theo.

Questions, were these arranged marriages and if so where does this come into this whole seen?

terbear, this is the situation from BC Bountiful- with the off shoot mormon group. The 'leader' had over 25 'wives-- 101 kids and we are not sure exactly we think 8 wives were under the age of 16 when he 'married' them. Which is another 'loophole- because the age of consent until recently was only 14. So technically he may not even be charged for statutory rape! Then in Canada- a girl can get married at 16-with her parents permission- so again another loophole this fruitloop may be able to get through!
Then some freaks on the globe were saying he is the greatest for having 101 kids- Well, We know for sure that having one child takes a great deal of time, effort, and money- so there is no way he could of 'taken care and been a proper father to 101'.
